About Us

Ron Clarke

The annual Tastes of Gold Coast food and wine festival is a joint initiative of the Gold Coast City Council and Gold Coast Tourism. It’s a festival that unites the wonderful food producers, chefs, restaurants, and wine and beverage makers of the Gold Coast and its Hinterland.

Through their co-operative efforts, we are treated to an innovative and imaginative program of events, held at various locations across our region. There’s food and wine-themed banquets, dinners, cooking demonstrations, street parties, markets, and competitions.

As its name implies, it’s a festival that’s all about good old fashioned fun and people enjoying themselves – a festival that perfectly compliments our superb weather and relaxed lifestyle.

I commend Tastes of Gold Coast to our local community and to our many visitors.

Angela BrownAngela Brown

Angela is the sous chef at the Room 81 restaurant, where she has been for the past two years. She is passionate about her cooking, and sharing it with her friends and family. Angela’s love and knowledge of food has been enhanced through her many travels through Asia, Europe and South America.

Training and competing in cooking competitions has allowed Angela to develop new ideas and recipes, that she has brought back with her to the Gold Coast. In her spare time, she trains chefs, apprentices and high school students for competitions, giving her the opportunity to share the industry knowledge that was shared with her.

Angela lives and breathes food, and as one of our Ambassador chefs for Tastes of Gold Coast 2010, we look forward to her sharing her passion and ideas with us!
